Congrats Brittany on being our next Member of the Month
My family and I moved here in 1997 from Troy, NY and 18 years later, we have NEVER gone back. I am a HUGE family girl- my parents, sister and darling/sassy niece are my reason for living. For the past 10 years, I have been a Hairstylist at the same salon I started at- HairColorXperts. It has been a blessing to be a part of our Crossfit Fireball family. I want to thank everyone for the unconditional support and motivation that truly keeps me going every day!!
What is your favorite WOD?
The ones that look the easiest because they are ALWAYS the hardest
What is your least favorite WOD?
Whenever there is rowing involved.. my motor sucks
What is your favorite lift?
Squats and deadlifts .. gotta build that booty
What is your least favorite lift?
Snatch- itll never be easy but ill master it one day. Such a mind game
When and how did you become involved with CrossFit?
In July of 2014.. ran into Cody at Lansdowne one night shortly after he opened and knew it was the change I was looking for.
What did you do before CrossFit?
I had done crossfit for about 2 years at another local gym and once it closed its doors, I went to the good ol local LA Fitness.
What did you think after your first CrossFit experience? How does it compare to now?
It’s always been a love/hate relationship.
What do you like most about CrossFit Fireball?
I LOVE how close of a family we all are. It’s an awesome feeling to walk into the gym everyday knowing everyone is there to push and better themselves
What special memories or achievements have you had since you have been at CrossFit Fireball?
Just seeing the progress I have made in a year. I never thought I would compete because it’s just not my thing but I’ve accomplished one so far and next month I have 2. They are pushing me to always take my training to the next level and continue to better myself.
What advice would you give to a newcomer joining CrossFit Fireball?
It is truly for everyone. Don’t ever feel intimidated- we are all here for the same reason. No one jumps into crossfit as a pro, we all started as “beginners.” It’s going to suck after your first time (and maybe the second and 20th time) but you have to always look back at where you started and ALWAYS pay attention to the progress you make. You can do this!!
What is the biggest change you see in yourself since starting CrossFit?
Well I always said my life long goal was to be able to do a pull up… and within a month of being at Crossfit Fireball, I was able to do multiple pull ups! So just know that if you allow yourself to be coachable- with the right coaching you will hit those goals.
What are your hobbies outside of CrossFit? What is your profession?
I LOVE being on the water-fishing, paddle boarding, or just relaxing. Living in florida, you just want to be outside doing things no matter what it is.
